Steam is energy – with WashTech’s M-Type professional passthrough dishwashers M1C & M2C models.
During the wash cycle, commercial dishwashers are known for releasing a large amount of steam when the hood is lifted. This steam is then mostly collected into the overhead extraction hood, also knowns as a steam extraction canopy in commercial kitchens.
With WashTech’s Planet Technology the dishwashers are fitted with is an effective heat recovery unit that maximises efficiency to help reduce operating costs and to further reduce the impact on our environment. All models run using a cold water inlet, but fill using hot water therefore reducing the cost of running both a cold and hot water system and the conventional need to connect a separate hot water supply.
How It Works
The recovery unit captures the condensed steam let off during the wash cycle and then recycles it back through the wash system to heat the incoming cold water for the next cycle – a simple and effective solution resulting in lower operating costs for a business. Another key factor supporting a more sustainable experience, is that all the passthrough dishwashers feature an EcoPower mode to reduce temperature and energy consumption when the dishwashers are on standby mode outside of peak service periods.
As a result of the reduction in steam emissions, the Heat Recovery Unit (HRU) fitted to the passthrough dishwashers has been SEED certified, thus it can be used without an extraction hood (canopy) in most conditions and is accepted by most Local Councils and Authorities – saving on any additional extraction hood installations and other washing operation costs.
SEED certification means that the equipment is independently tested and verified to comply with the standards set with the NCC, (National Construction Code).
SEED stands for: Sustainability by Engineering, Environment by Design
