As a brand, Sustain has embodied the mission to provide renewable and compostable food packaging made from natural materials to businesses interested in high-quality sustainable alternatives.
Developing a variety of food service disposables that are renewably made and compostable in industrial facilities after use, Sustain provides everything from sugarcane packaging, birchwood cutlery and several ranges of sustainable disposable cups.
So, when looking for the right disposable cups for your business, how do you know which cup is right for you?
Embossed Paper
What’s unique? This cup has a ripple embossed effect to allow for better grip and is ideal for healthcare and aged care environments.
These Embossed Paper cups were the first range launched under the brand and are made with a water-based barrier coating (WBBC) and paper sourced from well-managed Forest Stewardship Council certified forests (FSC-C117930) and other controlled sources.
The embossed paper means that the cups provide a tactile feeling for the user and an extra element of heat insultation, which is achieved because of the raised design creating air pockets against the skin. The design also offers a better hold for customers who may have a weak grip, sensitive skin or require extra care – making these cups popular within hospitals and other healthcare facilities across Australia and New Zealand.
White Paper
What’s unique? Designed as the perfect canvas for your business promotion. Great for local cafes, clubs and restaurants.
Striking packaging has always been a key element of marketing – and logo design is an important aspect of this. If your business has been considering stocking branded takeaway cups made from renewable FSC-certified material (FSC-C117930) that are also compostable in industrial facilities after use, Sustain’s White Paper cups could be perfect for you.
Designed to encourage stamping or sticking your brand logo onto the front of each cup, this range gives you the perfect blank canvas to promote your business in a unique and simple way. Investing in renewable branded cups provides free advertising that allows local exposure of your brand to a wider audience and highlights your business’s identity.
Aqueous Kraft Brown
What’s unique? Classical design to promote a minimal sustainable look popular in hospital and corporate environments.
Sustain’s Aqueous Kraft Brown range of disposable cups uses classical design against unbleached kraft brown paper to promote a minimal and sustainable look for your business. Kraft brown paper is produced from unbleached wood-pulp, which helps to maintain paper strength and decreases the use of water in production and manufacturing. These cups also employ a water-based barrier coating to eliminate the need for a separate plastic lining and reduce overall plastic use.
The simple design and colour palette of the range also promote an “organic” look for businesses after a more straight-forward aesthetic – making this range popular in hospital and healthcare environments and are made from renewable FSC-certified material (FSC-C117930).
OzHarvest Collection
What’s unique? Each design was created to promote Australian sustainability through national and environmental iconography.
Sustain’s OzHarvest collection is made from renewable FSC-certified material (FSC-C117930) and comes in three unique designs chosen as a subtle way to encourage customers to consider the different facets of sustainability in Australia printed on an aqueous disposable cup.
- The Four Seasons: Split into four panels showcasing the changing seasons across the same farmland, the Four Seasons reflects Australia’s strong agricultural market. The artwork aims to showcase the seasonality of produce, the long-life of the supply chain, and the importance of well-managed land with the design highlighting the importance of sustainable land management in creating a better environment for us and future generations.
- Australian Fauna: Koalas are an instantly recognisable symbol of Australia, yet due to land clearing, increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and longer bushfire seasons, the beloved national icons are currently facing unprecedented threats to themselves and their habitat. The koala was included in this design as both a symbol of Australia and to represent the need to better protect and manage our forests in the fight against climate change. The yellow background is the iconic brand colour of not-for-profit food rescue organisation OzHarvest who we collaborated with on this range.
- Mindfulness: The third and final design in the collection depicts a large tree set against the backdrop of a setting sun. Sunsets are one of the most recognised and photographed images in the world and are a continuous occurrence that can be seen from almost anywhere. The silhouettes show a large tree shadowing a singular figure who, in a moment of stillness, is contemplating that image – coming together in representation of mindfulness.
Bamboo
What’s unique? Sleek and understated design printed on bamboo cups to promote one of the most resilient anf fast-growing renewable materials. Popular in corporate environments.
Considered one of the most sustainable resources due to its fast growth rate, resilient nature and ability to regenerate after being harvested, Sustain’s Bamboo range of disposable cups employs renewable materials to promote sustainability in a classic and sleek design.
The understated artwork includes a small plant detail to represent it’s sustainable start-of-life and is complemented with the use of a bio-based polybutylene succinate (BioPBS) lining that makes the cup compostable under specific conditions in industrial facilities after-use.
Since the brand’s inception, Sustain has continued to provide high-quality sustainable options in takeaway and disposable food packaging and is committed to meeting your business’s needs.
