Striking creativity and a meaningful partnership has resulted in Bunzl being recognised at the 2023 Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards – an exclusive award program recognising Australian and New Zealand businesses making a significant difference in sustainable packaging.
Bunzl was awarded the gold prize in the Marketing Design of the Year category for the company’s Sustain artistic series of coffee cups, which was developed in collaboration with charity partner OzHarvest. Made with compostable and ethical materials, the OzHarvest Collection feature Australian iconography, promoting messages of responsible land management and ethical sourcing. Each design intends to highlight different areas of Australia’s environment and encourage customers to consider the various elements of sustainability. The colourful designs include:
The Four Seasons: a four-panel design showcasing the changing seasons to reflect Australia’s strong agricultural elements.
Australian Fauna: imagery featuring a koala as a symbol of Australia to highlight and encourage better forest management.
Mindfulness: a design depicting a large tree set against the backdrop of a setting sun with a solitary figure lost in a moment of contemplation.
“As marketers, we’re constantly trying to capture the pragmatic mind and the imaginative heart in all we do,” says Fiona Corsie, Head of Marketing and eCommerce at Bunzl. “With this product, we hope to generate empathy for our environment and stimulate mindfulness in our consumption. And in working with OzHarvest, create a meaningful contribution to those in our community who are most in need.”
