In 2018 Australia introduced an almost nation-wide ban of single-use plastic bags. In July 2019, New Zealand quickly followed suit with their own ban to reduce the amount of plastic waste in our environment. Since then, numerous organisations and businesses globally have implemented better packaging solutions in order to keep up with a changing and more environmentally focused world.

There has been a large corporate and social focus on reducing plastic waste and a shift into sustainable, eco-friendly business practice. Sustainability is no longer a niche concern to address in the far-off future, it’s a global mainstream movement. And aside from the environmental benefit, there’s a financial advantage too.[1]

Did you know?

  • 71% of Australian consumers are willing to pay more for environmentally friendly products.[2]
  • 87% buy products with a social and environmental benefit when given the opportunity
  • 88% of consumers have a more positive image of a company that supports environmental issues
  • 92% are more likely to trust a company that supports social or environmental issues [3]

And while more than 90% of Australian consumers are concerned about environmental sustainability, only half of them believe they’re doing enough in their day-to-day lives to protect the planet. A 2018 study by Planet Ark found that consumers expect businesses and brands to take the lead in environmental sustainability. The study shows that more than two in three Australian consumers are willing to pay more for environmentally friendly products.[4]

Revive uses recycled rPET (polyethylene terephthalate) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) to create their range of disposable cups and lids, which do not contain BPA (bisphenol A).  Revive cups and lids are made from post-consumer recycled plastics to help reduce the environmental impact of plastics – and now they’re tackling straws.

Revive’s strawless Sipper Lids are clear, strong, crack-resistant and have a resealable cap to limit any spills. Ideal for all forms of colds drinks, they’re the answer to single-use straws for businesses who want to limit their plastic use. They’re just a better packaging solution.
